Polylithionite
Location: Southern
Greenland - all complexes |
Polylithionite is found throughout the pegmatite
dikes in the nepheline syenites. Named for the
high amount of lithium it contains, tablets up to
4 inches are often found, usually associated with
steenstrupine, aegirine and analcime.
The plates of polylithionite are a light greenish
color, and fluoresce a brilliant yellow/white under
SW UV light.
Fine examples can be found in combination with sodalite
and analcime resulting in wonderful 3 or 4 color specimens.
